Job Description
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling various general ledger accounts, and ensuring all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, assist with audit processes, and ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies. Additionally, you will analyze financial data, provide variance explanations, and maintain month-end close checklists and calendars. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, preparing account reconciliations, and maintaining accruals and prepaid schedules are essential parts of this role. You will also collaborate with other departments, participate in special projects, and assist with system implementations as needed.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and completeness
Reconcile various general ledger accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved timely
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Assist with audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries
Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies
Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations
Maintain and update month-end close checklists and calendars
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation
Prepare and maintain accruals and prepaid schedules
Collaborate with other departments to gather and review financial information
Participate in special projects and system implementation as needed
Essential Skills
3+ years in an Accounting role, ideally in a service-oriented industry
Strong experience with Month End close at a large company (100+ Million revenue company)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience working with a large ERP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (V lookups, Pivot tables, formulas)
Work Environment
You will be working onsite for 5 days a week with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Flexible hours are available, with start times between 7 am and 9 am.
